this is the journey of surviving through poetry this is the blood sweat tears of twenty-one years this is my heart in your hands this is the hurting the loving the breaking the healing - RUPI KAUR

I loved reading poems, which mostly i found on Instagram but had no idea which book do i pick for it . After quite some exploring i fell upon this book, 'MILK AND HONEY' by Rupi Kaur. Her name wasn't much unknown to me because i had heard of her a few times before and thought why not give it a shot. fortunately, from the time i opened the book till i shut it finally, i dint regret my choice one bit.

'Milk and Honey' is poetry book about love, heartbreak, loss, femininity, abuse, wounds and much more that flashes you with the the harsh moments of your lives and yet makes you feel empowered, makes you feel stronger about yourself. It gives you the perspective of finding sweetness in those bitter moments of your life.

The book intensifies throughout the read , hitting you harder with reality on every page. It tears your heart out while healing you simultaneously in its own corroborating manner. Kaur talks about what seems the universal truths and consequences that girls timelessly face with respect to physical or mental harassment. She has tried to break the taboos that have been suppressing girls from voicing their issues, by not being afraid to let it out in the open through her writing.

This book is completely relate-able to all those out there going through their own mini battles of lives and trying to seek the motivation to locate the brighter picture in it. It is a highly recommended poetry book for all, be it beginners or veterans cause this one just hits you right.

I never thought i would enjoy a poetry book this much!
