How do you choose between love and the future of the human race?

EVE OF MAN is the first novel in a trilogy. It brings you to the dystopian world facing unimaginable crisis.

EVE, the only girl born in 50 years shoulders the weight of the future of the human race. At the age of 16, three male potentials are lined up to be selected from, to save the future humanity with eve. all the while beating the dilemma of being with the love of her life, Bram, on the other side, Eve wants freedom. She fights for it. They both do.

Eve of Man introduces you to a world that's hard to believe in. Being the only girl in the entire the world, eve is taken care of at the central. central is a technologically advanced tower where she lives, where she's protected from the rest of the world, where she's made to go through painful intrusions in her body , where she wants to get freed from...

Eve lives with her friends who are virtual projections and care takers whom she calls mothers, that are ready to give lives for her. She is made to go through unwanted checkups, to keep her eggs healthy and potentiate them to give birth to girls and save the world. She is only able to get through such a maltreatment because of the love and sacrifices made by her mothers, her longing for Bram, and most importantly, the letters given by one of her care-takers, that her late mother left behind before her death, when she gave birth to eve.

The story is narrated from the perspective of the two protagonists- Eve and her love, Bram . It enlightens a crisis, thinking about which actually puts us in awe due to ts magnitude. How so ever its magnanimity was felt neutralized to me due to the slow narration. I was actually dragging myself all the way through the book with a hope of something interesting to take place that would hook me to the book. Comparing the gravity of the issue that has been highlighted, to the story telling and occurrences of events, the issue loses its crux. Although one thing i enjoyed in the narration was the metaphors used with certain impressive one liners and expressions.

The technology used and talked about in the book was surprising for me as i had not expected the story to be this full of advanced sciences.

What makes us pity eve, is the funny game played by the diabolic higher authority, that has enclosed Eve at the central to refrain her from keeping ant contact with the outer world. They have hidden Eve's past from herself and not only snatched her parents from eve but also trapped her father to death. Being oblivious to all the facts, Eve becomes furious and makes it her mission to find out the truth.

Bram finds out things at the central are not right. While putting his life at risk, he dares to get to the root of evil. To his dismay he gets caught and he escapes the tower for good. It is his encouraging spirit that never gives up on liberating Eve, despite the hurdles he faces. It is admiring to read about Bram's determined strength to stand steadfast by his decisions and opinions towards the actions of the authorities who are trying to gain power by controlling eves life.

Overall, the book seemed overrated and not at all as compelling as i thought it would be. Although it had its own riveting adventures, more so orchestrated by Bram as the mastermind, at the last quarter of the book. Albeit, the book the didn't please me enough, i would still recommend you to read it for a simple reason that you might relish it and maybe have your own point of view and come across the features that you would appreciate. Even if i m not excited for the next book to come, i still might give it a shot, in the anticipation of something better to come and know what happens further ahead !

Rating :- ⭐⭐.5
