Maggie Ray is a freelance programmer, who gets her amazing ideas in her dreams and one such dream changes her life unexpectedly.

She is aspiring to create a game of her own, with Sandy, an artist she met just a few months ago, who turned into her best friend right the day they saw each other for the first time. The duo looks forward to tap the untapped tribes, the uncontacted people and their civilizations, in their game - to connect, learn and compare them with the modern civilizations- the modern civilization that has lost touch with spirituality long ago due the scientific progress and much more.

However, there comes a series of mysterious coincidences, when George- her brother, whom she had lost all the contacts with due to her family squabbles, decides to restore his relationship with his sister. Maggie, to her luck, with Sandy gets an opportunity to visit an isolated civilization kept hidden by a shaman on a far island. But, it is when Maggie realizes something weird is taking place around her without her will and that’s the turning point of her life.

But the dream she had- Does it mean something? Should she overlook it? Or is it her fate? ...Or is it?...

Source code is one such that you don’t want to miss in forever. This is the first book among a long series and the adventure is just about to start. The book certainly turned out to be much more than I expected it to be. The plot is highly gripping and hooks the reader to the book from the very beginning. It commences with a spooky little incident but further ahead, it engages the reader to dive into the pool of unimaginable mystery.

I liked the way the author introduced and built up the characters uniquely. The brother-sister relationship, the relationship between the two friends, their support to each other, their craziness altogether is worth all the admiration.

Maggie gets the chance to visit the tribes on the island because of George’s friend Arthur. He shares the same curiosity towards the tribes, as that of Maggie and sandy. The perspectives of each one towards the isolated civilizations got me inspired and now interested to visit such places to explore as well.

The adventure to the island brings many horrifying upturning situations in their paths, that they are not even aware of yet, but leaves the reader more shell-shocked. And I can’t decide if its for good or bad but this is just the beginning of the story and has for sure got me all stirred up for the thrills that I m anticipating will be offered.

The author leaves you restless and hungry for more of the book as you come to an end. She has perfectly thrown a blanket on all the aspects that are prerequisite for a book to be engaging enough and a reader to relish it.

This is one of the light reads that one can non-hesitantly pick up if one needs break from reading and still engage himself into a masterpiece. This is one book that actually didn’t feel heavy on head but instead the one that couldn’t stop me from turning pages. And the best part, it is a small and a perfect book of 2018 well suited for the beginners as well.

Being honest, there was nothing specific that actually disappointed me, other than the fact that it is only available as an e-book and I would love to have a physical form of it in my shelf.

Nevertheless, all I can say is, you will definitely want to read this and I bet you won’t regret it.

Rating:- ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
